Your knee consultation at Circle Reading Hospital: clear, thorough, and focused on finding the right solution for you.
On Arrival
- •Check in at reception
- •Please take a seat in the waiting area; Mr Nahas will call you in when ready
- •You may be asked to arrive earlier for an X-ray; if so, Mr Nahas' practice manager will let you know in advance
Your Consultation
- •Review & discussion: we will go through your symptoms and goals in plain language
- •Full history: how and when symptoms started, what makes them better/worse
- •Examination: focused knee assessment to understand pain, stability and function
Please note: Occasionally there are delays. Healthcare is unpredictable and every problem is dealt with fully and properly. If you're kept waiting, please be reassured the same care and attention will be given to your case.
Imaging (if required)
- •If needed, X-ray, MRI, ultrasound or CT will be arranged
- •Some imaging can be performed the same day; otherwise it's typically organised within 7 days
- •Results are reviewed with you so you understand the findings and next steps
Your Treatment Plan
When all information is available, we will agree a clear plan that may be:
- •Non-operative: education, activity modification, physiotherapy, and/or injections
- •Operative: if surgery is appropriate, timing and pathway will be explained
Physiotherapy is often critical for knee problems with or without surgery; referrals are made as needed.
